Test video:Shayna and Bella

My test mini camcorder video! I do not know how to edit or anything..and did not try to do anything but poi tans shot!

Shayna, 5.8 yrs old, and Bella,1.5 yrs. old, play early mornings and before bed time. It is a delight to see them.
Bella , came to us very ill with giardia and parasites that needed many treatments.
She is doing very will. Like Shayna, Bella is house trained, cause no damage in the house, are spunky, loving lap dogs. They come when called even when out in our yard (with an electric fence).
And both watch tv, bark at animals on tv, and can and do shut off the tv when something is on they dislike like a dog!

signa camcorder hell

i just got home and am total frustrated with my new camera...the guide on the mini dvd is stuck in my imac! back to the store i shall go!

why do these new "easy" devices turn out to be so very hard to set up and use, especially on an imac.....

Back and thought i knew it was programed to download video's...so i took one and it would not...

so ...must continue to brainstorm or revisit the computer geek! love those geeks! :-0

OTHER MCHENRY CELEB ENCOUNTER!

I HAD A CELEBRITY ENCOUNTER THIS WEEK...THAT I BLOG ...
#1 SON also had a celebrity encounter when at the MKE airport! it was SCREECH !
# 3 SON also had an encounter this week...read about it below!!:

Last night I (ADAM) had kickball per usual on Thursday night. My boss and I went to Leff's (sponsor and bar in Tosa) before the game to watch the draft. The barkeep (after seating for a few minutes at one of the main table) asked if we would be willing to move as "Robin Yount" was coming in. My boss and I were like "haha okay we can move but couldn't you think of a better excuse" (even got a few free beers out of moving spots).
Like twenty minutes later, Yount comes walking in with some of his guys and sits at the table next to us. Turns out he was going to a few bars in promotion for this Robinade drink. The place wasn't that busy, so after the first pick Sam Bradford in the draft I started clapping because as you know I love the draft. I get a hand on my shoulder and turn around and Robin Yount goes "who got picked". Literally had a five minute conversation about the draft and the draft. Then after the gig was up and we stopped playing it cool that this was Robin Yount, we started talking about the BrewCrew and other good topics like Wade Boggs drinking skills back in the day. He even bought us a few beers over the course of the night.

THE MUSEUM TOUR I SHALL REMEMBER TO FORGET!

eek..i HAVE BEEN ENJOYING being a docent but today was more than a challenge. i had a jumpy group of Beloit, Wi. fifth graders with two parent chaperons who have never been to MAM... i knew from the beginning that it would be "interesting" as i was FIRSTLY:
constantly interrupted during my introduction by talking and some pushing between students, cell phones out and snapping works while i watched the back of heads!.
i was patient and waited and then continued until

SECOND:the chaperon lifted her opened cell (cover page said "shit happens"!) over her head and bolted out of the gallery yelling "STEVE MARTIN...STEVE MARTIN"...
of course most of my group ran yelling after her...i caught them in time to see STEVE MARTIN wave politely at us and get away by turning into another gallery, with me finally getting between him and them.

after a short reminder about "people and STEVE MARTIN have the right to tour as did they", i suggested we move on to see and discuss other works of art.

THIRDLY:at the very next stop the group left me /ran /snuck away looking for STEVE MARTIN....

patient...I gathered the students AGAIN and we got on the elevator, door closed, where i told them what we would see on another floor but only if they could follow me and use good museum manners that were reviewed at the beginning of all tours.

Fourthly: as we exited the elevator turning right a student saw STEVE MARTIN behind us in a far left gallery... again yelling many students, cells raised, run towards him...

how I stopped them I do not know..maybe because a few students really also wanted a tour and stayed with me and called to the others to stop running and return to the small group waiting right out side the elevator!!

true to my word "if we were a disturbance to others in the museum the tour would end"...and it did.

i hope STEVE MARTIN doesn't think badly of student conduct.

i do!

but he did look dapper in dark suit and hat!!

Our "not so easy" and also our "easy open" stafety gates !!

the first photo is our older and first gate. the second and third photo's are of our newly installed safety gate:

i just installed a metal non-permanent but stable and a very easy to open safety gate to restrict our pets to kitchen and family room area at our kitchen-living room doorway.the older plastic permanently affixed gate is working well but not easy to open. the older gate swings only one way and closing/lock is on one side and low. being on one side and low is inconvenient if you are not on lock side. also the older gate must be perfectly lined up in small wall mount to close and securely, which is also not as easily done as in the new gate with a top hand. did you notice an arrow drawn on top of the older gate??? it is because people always try and force it to open the way it can not and thus many times tearing the permanent brackets from the wall, damaging the wood. hopefully the arrow will be noticed and gate swung in the direction arrows directs minimizing further wall damage and gate damage. two way opening is really very nice, at least for our needs.

i hope that this will help u decide what to look for in safety gates for pets or children!

these have made life convenient for us and "safe" for the pets!!

ART IN BLOOM ..at milwaukee art museum

i love being at MAM as a docent!! While at the museum i was given a lei by one of the participating florist on this the first day of a three day event called ART IN BLOOM!
i walked around with fellow docent and we got a preview of some of the art in bloom displays and talked to a few of the florists as they were setting up there displays. then i did a tour called American history in art for fifth grades and great kids they were. There teacher was the chaperon and a delight to have alone.
next i took around a great group of about 25 women from Chicago who came with their fellow Hadassah members.
FYI: Hadassah is an organization that is a network of dedicated volunteers, founded on the principle that advancement and cooperation in medicine and science transcend politics, religion, and national boundaries. Established in 1984, Hadassah International currently spans the five continents of North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australasia. Just a little about some of its mission is to:
* Enhance the image of Israel through the work of the Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO).
* Provide support for HMO so that it remains an academic center of excellence for healing, teaching, and research.
* Serve as a bridge to nations through medicine.

all in all the day went very well and ended on a high note as a friend meet me at my favorite Chinese restaurant for supper!!

online art-masks for sale for charity

Note: interesting mask project held in our Cherry Creek Mall in Denver Colorado.
Go to www.themaskproject.org. to bid on your choice.
A purchase will benefit a hospice.
My cousin Mari has fun making the one pictured.
She spoke of the meaning of the mask –
it has to do with the heart...hearts which are at the forehead and below the chin ...in each of these hearts is a small mirror. looking into your heart? or reflecting your heart? with the branches of the tree of life into the hands that can receive or give.... oh more...
