Our "not so easy" and also our "easy open" stafety gates !!

the first photo is our older and first gate. the second and third photo's are of our newly installed safety gate:

i just installed a metal non-permanent but stable and a very easy to open safety gate to restrict our pets to kitchen and family room area at our kitchen-living room doorway.the older plastic permanently affixed gate is working well but not easy to open. the older gate swings only one way and closing/lock is on one side and low. being on one side and low is inconvenient if you are not on lock side. also the older gate must be perfectly lined up in small wall mount to close and securely, which is also not as easily done as in the new gate with a top hand. did you notice an arrow drawn on top of the older gate??? it is because people always try and force it to open the way it can not and thus many times tearing the permanent brackets from the wall, damaging the wood. hopefully the arrow will be noticed and gate swung in the direction arrows directs minimizing further wall damage and gate damage. two way opening is really very nice, at least for our needs.

i hope that this will help u decide what to look for in safety gates for pets or children!

these have made life convenient for us and "safe" for the pets!!
