The day was bright, and windless.  

We could not have a more beautiful day for a sleigh ride.

 I love meeting up with fellow artists/crafters as it is a great time to learn to skill, hone skills, work on our own projects, all the while sharing amazing conversation and eats!

The FIRSTmajor snow of 2013

I woke to a pristine sight from my kitchen "picture" window.
It had snowed lightly all day and all night for the first time this season, to accumulate into a wonderment.  The trees are crystalline coated and  the space is illumines, which I could not capture with my iPhone phone.

Woman's Club event

Here I am, at the Milwaukee Women's Club. What a marvelous building,  amazing art collect, and food better than most of the best restaurant. I was attending a supper and talk about OPERA:  BLUE BEARD.  The presenter, Stephen Bassoon(who actually played the bassoon professionally!), was charming as he commented on the videos of performances, artists and composer.  I loved having the words subtitled as it is difficult to hear especially the soprano's.

Wish all the operas I attend had subtitles! 

February Brown Bread baking day:

Today is a perfect day to put on the oven and bake, adding the warmth and aroma on this a very cold day, illuminated by the reflection of last nights snow.

I made the bread as instructed then deverted from the recipe by adding dried fruit and nuts.  I never did add the banana as I soaked the dried cherries, cranberries and raisins in boiling and add it to give this heavy brown bread a moister texture.
