Purim fun for whom?

The Fun Holiday but for whom??

Purim, celebrated on the 14th of Adar, which is this weekend! It is at times the wildest, most action-packed day of the Jewish year.
But because I empty nester it is not fun any more FOR ME!

Modern times: to celebrate I am my family would eat special foods, dress in costumes and attend community events like carnivals!
WHY: because 2400 years ago, Haman, the Persian prime-minister, persuaded King Ahasuerus to issue a decree ordering the extermination of all the Jews. Mordechai, the leader of the Jews, rallied his people, urging them to unite in prayer and repentance. Meanwhile, his cousin Esther, who due to a miraculous chain of events was Ahasuerus' queen, lobbied the king to spare her people. Ahasuerus acceded to her request, Haman was sent to the gallows, Mordechai became new prime-minister.
again, the Jews successfully defended themselves against their enemies, and... we celebrate!

Day trip to Two Rivers and Sheboygan:MY HOMETOWN'S

It was fun going back to the city I was born today, 2/19/10. Tom and I always drive past the old homestead which is still standing. I had a fun shopping in the stores in the Two Rivers area to pass the time while Tom had business meetings. We took the "gal's" along, Bella and Shayna. The lake between Two Rivers and Manitowoc was invigorating and view striking.
We stopped at my favorite place to eat, Schultz's, the local hamburger/steak sandwich place. m-m-m-m-m NOTHING LIKE GOING HOME TO VISIT!

worth a visit:MSOE art collection

i recommend a visit!

The Grohmann Museum at Milwaukee School of Engineering is one of Milwaukee's newest attractions and home to the world's most comprehensive art collection dedicated to the evolution of human work. Its doors opened in October 2007.

BONUS: free parking behind the buillding.

The museum welcomes visitors to three floors of galleries where a core collection is displayed as well as special themed exhibitions, so you'll always see something new. The museum also has a spectacular rooftop sculpture garden, and amenities such as a vending café and store.

The Eckhart G. Grohmann Collection "Man at Work" comprises more than 800 paintings and sculptures from 1580 to the present. They reflect a variety of artistic styles and subjects that document the evolution of organized work. From farming and mining to trades as glassblowing and seaweed gathering. Later, it is machines and men embodying the paradoxes of industrialism-- dark factory interiors with glowing molten metal juxtaposed with workers.

The museum is named in honor of Dr. Eckhart Grohmann, an MSOE Regent, Milwaukee businessman and avid art collector, who donated the Man at Work collection to MSOE in 2001 and subsequently the funds to purchase, renovate and operate the museum that bears his name. Dr. Grohmann and his wife, Ischi, are longtime supporters of MSOE.

organization is my challenge this month

junk junk and more JUNK challenged! i have taken in upon myself to go thru each room and sort, donate, toss and organize drawers, closets and my studio. so you see the junk before sorting and my end result! i now find things so not buying duplicates! also the benefit of having a place for things a things having a place is that i have to walk to get and put back the things i use!
conclusion: i feel mentally and physical healthier with each area i organized!
dilemma: can i find the things that reside in new places or return them ?
