Painting second floor totally

wow...it is really a challenge to paint every room and halls in our upstairs....moving things from room to room that is being painted means i will now have to decide what goes back up on wall and such. this is a month long project....am i up for it being selective in what i now put up and out? we will see!

Electical outage keeps us in the dark!

the good of having a rain storm come thru is that i did not have to water my glorious barrel's of amazing veggies, hopefully ripening even tho we are having unusual dray and cool weather.
the bad part of the 2.7" of rain that fell is that we were out of electricity from 6 to well past 9 last night. since we are on a well that means not water, sump pumps not working and the other usual inconveniences. we had no flooding, a blessing! thank u WE for fixing the problem which was caused by a near by lightning strike that put out electricity to seven house including us.

tornado

Stephen, #2 son, called to say "that round 2:10 or so a tornado formed right next to our building at work. The floor shook and the windows across the floor were shaking in and out. One cracked. A few on another floor and skyway connecting to the next building blew out. A bunch of trees limbs and a tree or two came down. I'm fine.
It basically formed right next to us, then went east for a few blocks, then south".

I do hope when he bikes home from work to his home south, that home ok!

August 8th -15th: Fun filled week

Finally summer like here with temperatures in high 80's all week, but 5-10 degrees cooler by the lake. This week was a week of tending the garden and flowers, going out and about to enjoy the warmth: beside visiting and entertaining my family, I went to Pike Lake to swim, over ate and saw the Wisconsin State Fair two days, an evening movie with Lisa G.( JULIA &JULIA)then ate out often, out of door seating, amny times and with David (son#1), shopped at Bayshore one evening, and again day time at Grand Avenue, ate out of doors at our favorite Mexican place, sat out of doors on our lovely enclosed porch( reading humongous biography about Georgia O'Keeffe), visited with friends here and on the phone, stopped at Irishfest Maier Summerfest Grounds to view David and Lisa Hurling for viewers who attended the fest, and went to Port Washington for TALL SHIP FESTIVAL..as seen in the photo above. Shayna as usual got all the attention from both young and old, while we strolled exhibits, listened to music and viewed the lovely marine and all the ships.
What a nice way to spend the week. Tomorrow. Sunday,... it rain forecast to rain! so goes the out of door adventures.
