Why and 'What I have been creating: 2014-2015

I create art
to learn, to grow, to explore, to convey, to resolve, to dispute, to reflect, to leave something behind, to pick up what I’ve found, to bask in the moment, to take a closer look, to ask, to breathe,
to be selfish, to be selfless, to humor, to manipulate, to distract,
to focus, to ascend,to ground, to pray, to party, to connect,
to have evidence of my existence.
  • It is only with hindsight, when all of the dust of an experience has settled that I can make sense of my own feelings about what I saw. I need to draw, I need to paint, I need to take photographs to have evidence of my own existence.
  • I have always had a drive to experiment and make things with my own hands.
  • Art helps me process my thoughts and feelings and interpret them.
  • Making and seeing art excites my brain and hope others.
  • I had been told my art is Storytelling (in its infinite forms) and defines us as self-referential, self-reflective, infinite beings.
  • Making art is an important way I mentor my students.
  • I make art to take part in conversations that were going on before me and conversations that will go on long after I’ve gone.
Below: I have now still been drawing, adding color, but turned to photography.
Below Mixed media...unfinished, spontaneously created from memory.

Photographes  all taken with my IPHONE ONLY!

LET IT SNOW

I am thrilled to have a new snow blower for small snows clean-ups. I have a plow service come is more than 3" and now
I can do the drive way so it is a safe place to walk.
In an hour the residue melted, and thus I loved how
nice it look also.
