Home Maintenance

I paid to have my home water system repaired yesterday. The holding tank was  pressurized and my well chlorinated. 

 

Today, I followed the directions to get the system up and running.I laid out the hose, turned on the out door facet and am draining the well water into my ditch. 

 

 I will check the draining water for clarity. When the water in the ditch runs clear i then was instructed to turn on all the indoor water supplies and run until clear, run the washer ( all cold water only) until the water runs clean.  

 

Lastly, I have to turn on the water softener. 

 

In 7-10 days I will send in a water sample as the state requires.

 

This has so far gone very "well"... I am optimistic that no clogs or malfunctions will result form doing this maintenance......

Do this in summer...much easier!!

 

I dearly want to take a shower! 

 

I know you want me to also!

Snowy DAy Activities

The way started out with driving rain and then changed to massive flakes of snow covering the grown like marshmellow fluff.

I decided to enjoy the day by watching the weather change my landscape, as I washed bedding, started knitting a scarf, and planning supper.

But the nicest activity on such a day is baking.

David and Lisa gifted me Irish Bread Mixes.

I adventurously decided to add dried cranberries, dried blueberries, and a banana along with the required liquid, which I had firstly 

reconstituted the fruit.

SNOW FEAST OR FAMINE

This is the first and I mean FIRST

snow of this season!

I can home and watch many car's and a few trucks

that had spun out and were in the ditch, being towed out,

or spinning!

Needless to say, I am always thrilled with the beautiful of our winter snow falls at my home (above),

but so disappointed in that people don't adjust to the 

changing road conditions.

Tomorrow we are predicted to get up to 10 inches of fresh snow!

I am looking forward to taking some 2012 photo's.

This monthly event was great time as always
 but more even more fun because I took time at the

 area and did the offered projects. 

I can hardly wait for next months

CANDY CANE LANE 

IS A MILWAUKEE TRADITION.

I never have been able or near to see this huge neighborhood of

blocks and blocks of decorated homes.

We followed a cavalcade of cars

and watch dozen and dozens of families walking the streets

admiring the decoration.

I can only imagine how the addition of snow would enhance these  homes, by adding reflections and shimmer to the

 fun and creative displays.

I hope to return if it does snow and the crowds of spectators allow.
