Return from excellent adventure

I am not the only person to travel, but for me it was a milestone! I have not traveled alone since marrying..did I ever? But going to Israel as a volunteer in a program called face2face was life altering in more ways then I can write. As a visual person/ artist-teacher words come hard. The few photo's I shall post show some of I got to interact with daily. It is those relationships that I treasure, but the Chinese suppers were a highlight....for those who know that is my second passion: eating Chinese and art!!

Detailed COMMENTS ON PHOTO'S:

I am holding a gifted marker drawing and the artist who did it is hold the portrait I did in "his style" of him. He has severe issues, mental and physical, since being in the army and hurt badly, with total recovery not in site. The center he attends is amazing! There he is accepted and creative.

I also got hands on lessons in pastry making at one the renown cooking schools that provides all the eateries with amazing graduates who themselves become great chefs.
Again it was great to create so many yummy things, yes, beautiful, but so so tasty.

I never say no..and on a jeep tour of the Tiberias area "jumped" into the jeep happy to explore the region of so much amazing terrain.

Not surprise I found a paint brush...The experience of painting rust retardant on army equipment made me feel very useful, as did interacting with others doing such jobs. I had disbelieve of the out out dated battered equipment the army uses! Israel must be supported more than it is!..but on too my adventure Face2Face at the base: Many volunteers at the army base were elderly from Russia decades earlier. Being language challenged I was totally surprised that I could communicate with so many who remembered Yiddish, but now speak mostly Hebrew or Russian.

THIS IS JUST A SMALL PART OF MY DAILY EXPERIENCES !
