Productive and creative March 2015
I HAVE BEEN ASKED WHY I CREATE...SO I WROTE AN ARTIST STATEMENT: I create art to learn, to grow, to explore, to convey, to resolve, to dispute, to reflect, to leave something behind, to pick up what I’ve found, to bask in the moment, to take a closer look, to ask, to breathe, to be selfish, to be selfless, to humor, to manipulate, to distract, to focus, to ascend, to ground, to party, to connect, to have evidence of my existence. Below are some of the things I do that are evidence of my creative existence . |
This program brings together artists and writers to create a one-night
extemporaneous collective response before the group immerses in a
warm-up exercise and discussion distilled to a concept which artists
respond to by drawing and writers by writing. Work is exchanged between
groups, and the writers then respond to something which has just been
drawn and vice-versa. The evening culminates in a performance of these
paired illustrated stories bringing these collaborations to life and
leaving participants creatively energized. This photo was taken of me with my writer...who's work I read, illustrated then we presented to the group. |

BELOW I have been drawing as w way to take me to to warmer place this very cold winter |
VERY UNFINISHED..but again my wistful and wishful thinking to be out and about in warm weather. Note the view from the window into my yard that inspires me! |
When not reading, drawing or doing home chores... I began to use the keys I was gifted and made some wearables. |
